Let x be the EJ age;   then Fame's age is (x+10) years.


Five years ago:  EJ age is (x-5) years;  Fame's age is ((x+10)-5) = (x+5) years.


The basic equation is


    x-5 = 2 + %28x%2B5%29%2F4.


Multiply both sides by 4


    4x - 20 = 8 + (x+5).


Simplify and solve for x


    4x - x = 8 + 5 + 20

    3x     = 33

     x     = 33/3 = 11.


ANSWER.  EJ's present age is 11 years.  Fame's present age is  21 years.
