1.   Simple logic solution 

    5 years ago, Julio was 17 years younger than Adrianna, and at the same time, Anrianna was 2 times Julio age.


    From it, it is OBVIOUS that 5 years ago Julio was 17 years and Andrianna wad 34 years old.


    Hence, now Julio is 17+5 = 22 years old;  Andrianna is 34+5 = 39 years old.


    ANSWER.  Julio is 22 years old now.


2.   Simple Algebra solution 

    Let x be the Julio's age now.


    Then Andrianna age is (x+17) years.


    5 years ago Julio was (x-5) years old, while Andrianna was  ((x+17)-5) = x+12 years old.


    The problems says


        2*(x-5) = x + 12,    or


        2x - 10 = x + 12

        2x - x = 12 + 10,

        x      = 22.        ANSWER
