You can put this solution on YOUR website! .
1. Ben is 3 years younger than Dan .The sum of their ages is 53. Find their present age?
2.A man’s age is 2 years than 3times his son age.Find the age of both if the sum of their age is 46?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ben + Dan = 53
(Dan-3) + Dan = 53
2*Dan - 3 = 53
2*Dan = = 53 + 3 = 56
Dan = 56/2 = 28
Ben = 28 - 3 = 25.
Answer. Ben is 25, Dan is 28 years old.
You can put this solution on YOUR website! 1) Ben + Dan = 53
and Ben = D-3, therefore D + D-3 = 53
Now let's solve for D:
2D = 50
D = 25
Dan is 25 and Ben is 25-3 = 22
***************************************
2) man = 3s - 2
and m + s = 46 substitute for man
3s - 2 + s = 46
4s = 44
s = 11 the son is 11, and the man is 3s-2 = 33-2 = 31
.
You need to TOTALLY IGNORE @ADDINGUP's answers. As I'd stated some time before, usually his answers just DO NOT "ADDUP"!!
Why these people LOVE to confuse these people who are seeking CORRECT answers by giving them incorrect ones, is beyond me!
The other tutor's (IKLEYN's) answer to one of your problems is correct! The 2nd, as she states, is DEFECTIVE. That's very TRUE also! You need to read it and determine why that is so!
