Then the number of student tickets is  (820-x).


The revenue equation is


    12x + 8*(820-x) = 9128.


From the equation, express x  and calculate


    x = %289128+-+8%2A820%29%2F%2812-8%29 = 642.


ANSWER.  642 adult tickets and  820-642 = 178 student tickets.


CHECK.   12*642 + 8*178 = 9128.    ! Precisely correct !
