Question 1147012: "My age is 6 less than twice the age of my younger brother." How old is her younger brother if Jasmine is 28 years old? Answer by ikleyn(52786) (Show Source):
If this statement "My age is 6 less than twice the age of my younger brother" relates to Jasmine (which I sincerely believe), then
28 = 2*B - 6,
where "B" is the younger brother age, and from this equation
B = = = 17.
ANSWER. The younger brother age is 17 years.
Solved.

By the way, you should understand that if the problem is formulated in this way, as it is formulated in the post,
then it is not a Math problem ---- it is the puzzle, instead.
Why ? --- Because I forced to make that assumtion, which I made in my solution.
In TRUE Math problem, NO ASSUMPTIONS should be made over the proper formulation.
