The problem description is horribly written. Change it to something like this:

John is x years old and his sister Alicia is (5 times 12) years old. Also, Alicia is twice as old as john. write down an equation connecting their ages and find their ages.
===============
Obviously, Alicia is 60 years old, and since given that 60 is TWICE John's age, .
Simplest of equations; x is , John's age, and Alicia's age was already given.
