So one way you could do this question is make the years in to months so you could just subtract the months easily.
For example
34 x 12 (12 is the number of months in the year) = 408 months + 5 months extra
33 x 12 = 396 then plus 8 extra months so
413 - 404 = the difference in months between the ages so = 9 months
