Question 1116940: Suppose that you are taking a course that has 4 tests. The first three tests are each worth 20% of your final grade, and the fourth test is worth 40% of the final grade. To get a B in the course, you must have an average of at least 80 percent on the 4 tests. Your scores on the first 3 tests were
65.5%,
71%, and
94%. What is the minimum score you need on the fourth test to get a B for the course?. Don't round your answer.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let each test count as 1 and the fourth test count as 2
average=total/n
80=400/5. The tests count as 1, so the total is 65.5+71+94=230.5
That leaves 169.5 left to make 400, 400-230.5
That is the score the final will contribute, and it counts twice, so divide by 2 to get 84.75.
