You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The sum of Robin's age and Gabby's age is 45.
r + g = 45
g = 45 - r
Seven years ago, Robin was 16 yrs. more than one-half as old as Gabby was then.
r - 7 = 1%2F2(g-7) + 16
r = 1%2F2(g-7) + 16 +7
r = 1%2F2(g-7) + 23
get rid of the fraction, mult by 2
2r = g - 7 + 46
2r = g + 39
2r = 45 - r + 39
2r + r = 45 + 39
3r = 84
r = 84/3
r = 28 yr is R's age

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let Gabby’s age be G
Then Robin’s is: 45 – G
We then get: 45 – G – 7 = ½(G – 7) + 16
Solve this to get Gabby's age as 17.

We need to focus on GABBY's age, and that's what we focus primarily on.
This is how simple this is!
