You can put this solution on YOUR website!

(1) M+G=33
(2) A+C=95
(3) S+M=72
(4) M+C=87
(5) S+G=73

Equations (1), (3), and (5) give the sums of the ages of Marry, George, and Stephen two at a time. So a quick path to the answer to the problem is to add those three equations:

M%2BG%2BS%2BM%2BS%2BG+=+33%2B72%2B73+=+178
M%2BS%2BG+=+89 (6)

Comparing (6) with (1), (3), and (5) shows that Marry is 16, George is 17, and Stephen is 56.
Then (4) tells us Claire is 71; and then (2) tells us Alice is 24.

Answers:
Marry 16
George 17
Alice 24
Claire 71
Stephen 56

You give a "+" and then said, "... years between them." This seems contradictory. If you mean SUM on both sides, then

system%28m%2Bg=33%2Ca%2Bc=95%2Cs%2Bm=72%2Cm%2Bc=87%2Cs%2Bg=73%29

Five linear equations in five unknown age variables. You can cut down to one equation in one variable through successive substitutions and simplifications.
-
m=33-g
-
a%2Bc=95%2Cs%2B33-g=72%2C33-g%2Bc=87%2Cs%2Bg=73
system%28a%2Bc=95%2Cs-g=39%2Cg%2Bc=87%2Cs%2Bg=73%29
Notice two equations sum of s and g, and difference of s and g.
2s=39%2B73
2s=112
highlight%28s=56%29

Revise system:
system%28a%2Bc=95%2Cg=56-39%2Cg%2Bc=87%2Cg=73-56%29
system%28a%2Bc=95%2Cg=17%2Cg%2Bc=87%2Cg=17%29
highlight%28g=17%29

Look at what is still unknown:
system%28a%2Bc=95%2Cg%2Bc=87%29
c=87-g
c=87-17
highlight%28c=70%29

Last equation in that system:
a%2Bc=95
a=95-70
highlight%28a=25%29

The first substitution made was m=33-g.
m=33-17
highlight%28m=16%29

RESULTS
Marry, George, Alice, Claire and Stephen
16,   17,     cross%2825%29,     cross%2870%29,    and    56

Alice should be 24 and Claire should be 71.
