x and x+7

x%28x%2B7%29=638------can you do the rest?

-

x%5E2%2B7x=638
x%5E2%2B7x-638=0
x%5E2%2B7x-2%2A11%2A29=0
x%5E2%2B7x-22%2A29=0------notice 29-22=7.
%28x-22%29%28x%2B29%29=0

The two numbers can be 22 and 29
or
-29 and -22.

One way to solve it is to reduce to the quadratic equation

x*(x+7) = 638.

The rest is just arithmetic, and I sincerely hope you can complete it on your own.

Another way is to take the square root of 638: sqrt%28638%29 = 25.26 and then to check numbers in vicinity of 25.

By doing in this way, I found 22 and 29 in 10 seconds 22*29 = 638.
