You can put this solution on YOUR website! .
« I'm three times as old as you were when I was as old as you are now. When you will be my age, together we will be 13370 years old. »
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Let M = my age now
Let Y = your age now,
so my variables are consistent with those of Edwin McCravy.
When it was happened when "I was as old as you are now" ?
Obviously, it was (M-Y) years ago.
So, your first equation is
M = 3*(Y-(M-Y)). (1)
Now, when "you will be my age" ? - Obviously, in (M-Y) years.
Therefore, your second equation is
(M + (M-Y)) + (Y + (M-Y)) = 13370. (2)
The rest is just a technique.
Answer. M = 5730, Y = 3820.
