You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let's have Joseph's age be x.
We know Rap is "three times as old as Joseph" = 3x
We know Don is "five more than twice as old as Joseph" = 5 + 2x.
The sum of all of their ages (x, 3x, and 5 + 2x) is equal to 29.
x+%2B+3x+%2B+5+%2B+2x+=+29
Solve for x.
6x+%2B+5+=+29
6x+=+24
x+=+4
Joseph's age is 4, so Rap's age is 3(4) = 12 and Don's age is 5 + 2(4) = 13.
Check: 4 + 12 + 13 = 29 (this works!)
ANSWER:
JOSEPH = 4 years old
RAP = 12 years old
DON = 13 years old
