Question 1047674: Help me, I am able to do age algebra problems, but this one confuses me. I have tried to solve it, but I know the answer won't be identity:
Find three consecutive odd integers where the sum of the first and second is equal to six less than twice the third integer.
x+x+2=2(x+4)-6
2x+2=2x+8-6
2x+2=2x+2
2=2

----
Even numbers are multiples of 2: 2x
Odd numbers are 1 more than or one less then an even number.
----------
3 consecutive odd numbers
1st:: 2x-1
2nd:: 2x+1
3rt:: 2x+3
-------------
Equation::
(2x-1)+(2x+1) = 2(2x+3)-6
------
4x = 4x
------
Ans:: x can have any integer value.
