For this question, you would have to put a number in to represent the variable or the missing number, let's say that Brad is 6 and Brad's dad is 4 times older than Brad, so you would have to multiply 6 and 4 together and that is 24. In 4 years, Brad will be one-third of Brad's age, so that means that Brad would be 10 and the father would be 28.

Something you said doesn't make sense. When you correct it, and solve, you find that Dad is: 32, and son is 8
