You can put this solution on YOUR website! Let's call the son's age x. Now the father is 24 plus the age of his son:
24+x = 3x subtract x on both sides
24 = 2x flip the equation around, it looks better:
2x = 24 now divide both sides by 2
x = 12 is the son's age. And the father is:
12+24 = 36
And the son's age times 3:
12*3 = 36 we have the correct answer

Since the father was 24 when the son was born, the son's age will always be 24 years less than the father's,
and the father's age will ALWAYS be 24 years greater than the son's, EVERY year.
Let the son's age be S
Then father's is: S + 24
As given, S + 24 = 3S
