Question 1016267: The question is five years ago, Jason was three times the ageof his sister, Marquecia. How should this be shown as an equation? I thought you should use j to represent Jason's age and that j would equal 3(m -5) to show jason's age as three times of his sister's and since it was fibe years ago, you'd subtract five. So, j=3(m-5), is that correct? Thanks

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
.
J=Jason's age; M=sister's age
.
J-5=3(M-5)
.
Subtract 5 from both for both being 5 years ago.
