F+8=2(A+8)
(A+24)+8=2A+16
A+32=2A+16
16=A
ANSWER 1: Albert is 16 years old.

Call Albert's and his father's age NOW, a and f.
Then we have
f = a + 24
In 8 years,
f + 8 = 2(a + 8)
Now substitute and get
a+24 + 8 = 2(a + 8)
a + 32 = 2a + 16
Now subtract a from both sides and then subtract 16 and get
32 = a + 16
a = 16
Then we have
f = 40
