The rational expression is undefined when its denominator is 0.
one example:
%28y%2B3%29%2F%28y%5E2-9%29.....if denominator y%5E2-9=0, then this rational expression is undefined
y%5E2-3%5E2=0 will be for x=3 or x=-3
