If you factor 399, you find it has a factor of 19.
399 = 19*21

If you do it the "hard way"
x*(x+2) = 399

Now you have to factor 399 anyway.
--> 19 & 21

Another way:
sqrt%28399%29 is almost 20, the middle of the 2 numbers.
