Question 359557: Can you help me with this problem?
find slope if it exists of the line containing the pair of points (-2,-16,
(-9, -18)
Slope is ???
If I do y2 - y1/x2 - x1
-16 - (-18) / -2 - (-9) = -16 + 18/ -2 +9
= (2, 7)
Would the slope of the line be 2? Or (2,7)?
Thanks for your help

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The slope is just a number,
m=%28y2+-+y1%29%2F%28x2+-+x1%29-+%28-16+-+%28-18%29%29+%2F+%28-2+-+%28-9%29%29+
m=%28+-16+%2B+18%29%2F+%28-2+%2B9%29
highlight%28m=2%2F7%29
Since slope is change in y over change in x, then when x moves 7 units, y moves 2 units.
