No, 0.37 is NOT an irrational number. An irrational number is a number that is not rational. A rational number is a number that can be expressed as the quotient (or ratio -- hence the name rational) of two integers. 37 is an integer and 100 is an integer and 0.37 is EXACTLY equal to , therefore 0.37 is rational. ANY number that can be EXACTLY expressed as a decimal, no matter how many decimal places it has, is a rational number. Just count the number of decimal places represented, take away the decimal point, and make the denominator a 1 followed by a number of zeros equal to the count of decimal places. Any decimal that repeats is also a rational number.
