Question 258099: Informal proof that the real numbers are closed with respect to subtraction.
Answer by drk(1908) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Let A and B be real numbers, where A > B.
--
If A > B, then A - B is > 0 which is real and closed.
If A = B, then A - B = 0 and is closed
If A < B, then a - B < 0, which is real and closed.
Is this what you were thinking by informal?
