Question 157774: what is the difference in commutative property and associatative property? Found 2 solutions by nomad_55, checkley77:Answer by nomad_55(6) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Communitative is basically a times b equals b times a. or ab=ba. Associative is a(bc)= (ab)c or a times (b times c) equals (a times b) times c. so the only difference is that in communitative it's the same either way. so like 6 times 3 equals 18, just like 3 times 6 equals 18. But associtative is more like 2(3x4)= 24, just like (2x3)4= 24
