Binary and hexadecimal: Part 2, Convert binary to decimal
You might have this in your homework soon. That's why Mr. Me is here to teach you!
|LESSON 1:02:02|
Binary has a kind of table used to convert it to decimal. It's like this:
_________
|16|8|4|2|1|
-------------
| 1 |0|1|1|0|
-------------
Very crappy, but the best I can show you.
I just typed in the binary number , as you can see, and it shows the numbers , , , and . So what do you think we are going to be doing to convert binary to decimal?
Well, the 1s mean it is true, and the 0s mean it is false. Let's just say that.
Lets go to the numbers above. 4, 2 and 16 are true. So we add them and we get...22!
So, 22 in base 2 is 10110, and 10110 in base 10 is 22.
