Question 146622: I need help with the following. I can only get so far and then am stuck. I think the fractions are throwing me off.
x^2 +5/2x + 25/16 = 11/8. I thought maybe I could solve it by completing the square, but cant seem to obtain the correct answer that fits back into the equation.

Question 147229: Basically it asks to solve by using the quadratic forumla, by leaving irrational roots in the simplest radical form.
The problem is 3x^2-4x-5=0
The trpuble I am having with this is solving it, I tried doing the problem by using the quadratic formula, but I get frustrated in the middle of the problem. I get stuck. Thank You if you are willing to take the time to help me=)

Question 147347: Find b^2 - 4ac and the number of real solutions:
4m^2 + 25 = 20m
The book shows an answer of (0, 1)
I have tried to work it by changing to a quadratic and using the discriminant to figure the answer, but I end up with m = 5/2
I would greatly appreciate if someone can tell me how to work this problem. I am completely stumped. Thanks!
