Question 96680: This one has me confused. I keep getting an answet with the t still in it so I can not round it like the question wants
The height h in feet of an object after t seconds is given by the function
h = –16t^2 + 80t + 6.
How long will it take the object to hit the ground? Round your answer to the nearest thousandth.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
what will h be when it hits the ground? Ans. 0
-16t^2+80t+6=0
multiply both sides * -1
16^t-80t-6=0
Quadratic formula:
t=5.074... and t=-.074
discard the negative root.
t=5.074 sec
