You can put this solution on YOUR website!
4x%5E2+%2B+2x+-+3+=+0
First, divide both sides by 4
x%5E2+%2B+%281%2F2%29x+-+3%2F4+=+0
Add 3/4 to both sides
x%5E2+%2B+%281%2F2%29x+=+3%2F4
Now, take 1/2 of the coefficient of x, square it, add it to both sides
%281%2F2%29%2F2+=+1%2F4 and %281%2F4%29%5E2+=+1%2F16
x%5E2+%2B+%281%2F2%29x+%2B+1%2F16+=+3%2F4+%2B+1%2F16
%28x+%2B+1%2F4%29%5E2+=+12%2F16+%2B+1%2F16
%28x+%2B+1%2F4%29%5E2+=+13%2F16
Take the square root of both sides
x+%2B+1%2F4+=+sqrt%2813%29+%2F+4
x+=+sqrt%2813%29%2F4+-+1%2F4
x+=+%28sqrt%2813%29+-+1%29%2F4
