x%2B6=0 or x-4=0 Get everything to one side so that only 0 remains on the right side (for both equations).


%28x%2B6%29%28x-4%29=0 Use the zero product property to combine the equations.


x%5E2%2B2x-24=0 FOIL out the left side.


So the answer is x%5E2%2B2x-24=0


To check your work, simply solve x%5E2%2B2x-24=0 for x. Doing so will show you that the solutions are x=-6 or x=4, which confirm the answer.
