Hello,
First let's expand this 2(m+1)²=3m+7 to get:
2m^2+4m+2=3m+7
Subtract 3m+7 from both sides:
2m^2+m-5=0
To solve this we need to plug it into the quadratic formula:
x = -1 +- (sqrt 41)/4
There we go.
Make sense?
