Question 391828: A submarine travelling in a parabolic arc ascends to the surface. The path of the submarine is described by y=2x^2-10x-40,where x represents the time in minutes and y represents the submarine's depth in metres.
a)How deep in the submarine initially? I think 40m.
b)What maximum depth does it reach? Solve algebraically.I think -52.5m.
c)How long does it take the submarine to reach the maximum depth? I think 2.5 seconds.
d)For how long is the submarine underwater?I think 7.625 minutes.
I would really appreciate any help:)

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
I think all your figures are right, however in (c) shouldn't be 2.5 minutes?

I meant I think it should be 2.5 minutes not 2.5 seconds which you have
