Question 342617: Graphing a parabola exercise
o Choose a graphing program to work with, either Excel or Graph. See Graphing Instructions in Course Materials Forum. Begin by opening a Word document that will contain the graph. Using the chosen software plot these 4 points on one graph and label each point with its coordinates. (0,-8), (2,10), (-2,-10). Enter as a separate Point Series if using Graph: (-1.25,0).
o The next step (added to the previous graph) is to graph the vertical line x = -1.25. Label this line as the Axis of Symmetry.
o Graph the Parabola: Using GRAPH: Right click on the Point Series of the 3 points on the parabola; select Insert Trendline; select Polynomial; select line color and style. Using Excel: Select line or arrow from toolbar; select line color, style, and thickness. Complete labeling and indicate the vertex and intercepts
