I'm not sure what you want to do here. Do you want to evaluate 3%28x-5%29 when x%5E2=49 ?


If so, then solve x%5E2=49 to get x=7 or x=-7 and then simply plug those values into 3%28x-5%29 to get 3%287-5%29=3%282%29=6 or 3%28-7-5%29=3%28-12%29=-36
