You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Tell whether the quadratic function has a maximum value or minimum value. Then find the value and round to the nearest tenth.
y= -x^2 - 2x+5
---------
Quadratic with a=-1, b=-2, c=5
----
Max or Min occurs where x = -b/2a = 2/-2 = -1
f(-1) = -(-1)^2 -2*-1 + 5 = 1+2+5 = 8
Max at (-1,8)
----------------
Max because the coefficient of x^2 is negative
