Question 126473: The quadratic function y=a(x-h)^2+k,a is less than 0,is translated nine units down. What is the range of the function? I think it is (y such that y is less than or equal to k-9,y belongs to a set of real numbers)

You can put this solution on YOUR website! The quadratic function y=a(x-h)^2+k,a is less than 0,is translated nine units down. What is the range of the function? I think it is (y such that y is less than or equal to k-9,y belongs to a set of real numbers)
--------------------------
Before the translation the vertex is at (h,k) and, because a<0, that
point is a maximum.
After the traslation the vertex is at (h,k-9).
The range is "all Real numbers less than or equal to k-9".
Cheers,
Stan H.
