The formula is one-half base times height. If one-half base times height is 35, then base times height is 70.
So find two numbers whose product is 70 with one number 3 more than the other.
You could use algebra to set up the problem; but you would probably end up having to do the same thing you need to do without algebra, so the algebra would be a waste of time.
