Question 1063560: Determine if each quadratic equation has real solutions. For questions A-E Choose Yes or No.
A. 12x^2-5=-3
B 2/3 x^2+7=11 (THE x IS NOT IN THE FRACTION, IT IS AFTER :))
C 2(x^2-3)=3(2x^2+1)
D 3x^2-1=8x^2+9
E 4(3x^2-7)=3(x^2-5)

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Use the discriminant.
Convert to standard quadratic equation form, ax%5E2%2Bbx%2Bc=0
I'll do the first one, you do the rest.
12x%5E2-5=-3
12x%5E2-2=0
So,
a=12
b=0
c=-2
and
b%5E2-4ac=0-4%2812%29%28-2%29=96
Since b%5E2-4ac%3E=0, there are real solutions.
So for A, yes there are real solutions.
