Or factor.

The quadratic is easier in this case.

(My rule is: If i can not factor by guessing in the first 10 - 20 seconds, I apply the quadratic formula).

factor this to get:

(4x+1) * (3x-2)

multiply those factors out to get 12x^2 - 5x - 2
