I am struggling through College Algebra. I do not understand utilizing graphs, but I am spending all waking hours trying!
My problem is: Use the graph of y=x2+4x+5 to answer the following:
a. Using the graph what are the solution(s) to the equation -x2+4x+5=0?
b. Does this function have a maximum or a minimum?
c. What are the coordinates of the vertex in (x,y) form?
d. What is the equation of the line of symmetry for this graph?
The questions go on and on, but that is my limit of four. I asked one other question of this site last week which was extremely helpful. Also, how do I sign up for tutoring? I do believe I need extra help. Thank you in advance and God Bless you.

Question 96205: Please help me solve this problem:
y^4/3 = -3y
This is what I have done:
y^4/3 + 3y =0
1. The exp of y is understood to be 1...so does this mean that I need to find the commoon denominator of the exp so that I could add? Should the exp of 3y then be 1/3?
y^4/3 + 3y^1/3= 0
2. Then in the book it says to factor out maybe 1/3?
This is where I get confused, because the problem in the book that is simmilar looks like this:
x^3/2= x^1/2
x^3/2- x^1/2= 0
x^1/2(x-1)) =0 How are they factoring out x^1/2? Is x^1/2(x-1) = x^3/2 -x^1/2
3. So once they get x^1/2= 0 and x-1=0
so the answer is x=0 and x=1

Question 96379: square root(2x-9)= 1/3
The first thing I did was square both sides to get rid of the radical. This leaves: 2x-9 = 1/9
Am I supposed to add nine to both sides? When I tried to do this I ended up with this: 2x= 1/9+ 9
2x= 1/9+ 9/1
2x = 1/9+ 81/9
2x= 82/9
1. This doesn't seem right. How do I get rid of the 2?
