Question 1051403: I really need help for two questions.I tried doing these myself but I kept getting the wrong answers, and I'm not sure why. Please show your working so I can see how you get to the answer.
1) What is the axis of symmetry for a parabola whose zeros are 2 and 5 (as in, the parabola crosses the x-axis at 2 and 5). What I got was 3 1/2, but somehow that's wrong.
2) What is the axis of symmetry for this quadratic function y = 3x^2 - 6x - 2. First I got 18, then 27, but both were marked wrong.
Please help, I really want to know where I went wrong.
