Question 985056: give some examples of standard form of a quadratic equation?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The standard form of a quadratic equation looks like this:
highlight_green%28ax%5E2+%2B+bx+%2B+c+=+0%29+
where a, b and c are known values, and a%3C%3E0
"x" is the variable or unknown (we don't know it yet)

Here are some examples:

highlight_red%282x%5E2+%2B+5x+%2B+3+=+0%29.....In this one a=2, b=5 and c=3

highlight_red%28x%5E2+-+3x+=+0%29......This one is a little more tricky:
Where is a?
Well a=1, and we don't usually write "1%2Ax%5E2",
b+=+-3,
and c=0, because is not+shown

highlight_red%28-5x%5E2++%2B+15+=+0%29.....In this one a=-5, b=0 and c=15
