against current x- 5 km/h
with current x+ 5 km/h

Distance= 10 miles

Time against + time with = 3 hours
t=d/r

10 /( x + 5 ) + 10 /(x - 5 ) = 3

LCD = (x - 5 ) ( x + 5 )
10 *( x - 5 ) + 10 (x + 5 ) = 3 (x^2 - 25 )
10 x - -50 + 10 x + 50 = 3 ( x ^2 - 25 )
20 x = 3 x ^2 -75
3 x ^2 - -20 x - -75 = 0
