x-1=%28sqrt%287%29%29
x=%281%2B-sqrt%287%29%29

%28x%5E2-9x-10%29=0
(x-10)(x+1)
.
Set each factor equal to zero and solve for the x-value:
x-10=0
x=10
and
x+1=0
x=-1
