Put in vertex form by completing the square on the x-terms:
y = x^2+4x+(4/2)^2 - (4/2)^2
y = x^2+4x+4 - 4
y = (x+2)^2 -4
y+4 = (x+2)^2

Vertex at (-2,-4)
y-intercept (0,0)
x-intercepts:
x^2+4x=0
x(x+4)=0
x=0 or x=-4
