So based on the information given we can write an equation in terms of x and solve it:
x%2F2%2B%28x%2B1%29%2F9=16
Let's add the fractions; the LCD is 18:
9x%2F18%2B%282%2A%28x%2B1%29%29%2F18=16
Simplify...
%289x%2B2x%2B2%29%2F18=16
11x%2B2=288
11x=286
x=26
So your two numbers are 26 and 27.
