Question 884528: Solve for X in terms of K using quadratic formula:
(x-3)(2x+5) = x-15+K
I have this problem figured out correctly to the following point:
x=[2+- sqrt(4+8K)]/4
I'm having trouble reducing the problem to its simplest form. I know that the 4 and 8K in sqrt(4+8K) can be reduced somehow but I'm having issues with it. Answer by josgarithmetic(39617) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Not having yet checked your solution for x, a way to manage the irrational piece can be like so:
Allowing you to reduce the rational expression solution for x.
