y=-x^2-2x+1    |Completing Square to put into Vertex Form

y = -(x+1)^2 + 1 + 1

y = -(x+1)^2 + 2   V(-1,2)  y-intercept (0,1)

Parabola opening downward  -1 < 0, x = -1 line of symmetry
