Think of two numbers whose product is -63 and whose sum is -2.
The numbers are -9 and +7
Rewrite:
x^2-9x+7x-63
Factor the 1st two terms and the last two terms separately:
= x(x-9)+7(x-9)
Factor out the common factor:
=(x-9)(x+7)
