You can put this solution on YOUR website!

%283-2x%29%283x%2B1%29 Start with the given expression.

Now let's FOIL the expression.

Remember, when you FOIL an expression, you follow this procedure:

%28highlight%283%29-2x%29%28highlight%283x%29%2B1%29 Multiply the First terms:%283%29%2A%283%2Ax%29=9%2Ax.

%28highlight%283%29-2x%29%283x%2Bhighlight%281%29%29 Multiply the Outer terms:%283%29%2A%281%29=3.

%283%2Bhighlight%28-2x%29%29%28highlight%283x%29%2B1%29 Multiply the Inner terms:%28-2%2Ax%29%2A%283%2Ax%29=-6%2Ax%5E2.

%283%2Bhighlight%28-2x%29%29%283x%2Bhighlight%281%29%29 Multiply the Last terms:%28-2%2Ax%29%2A%281%29=-2%2Ax.

---------------------------------------------------
So we have the terms: 9%2Ax, 3, -6%2Ax%5E2, -2%2Ax

9%2Ax%2B3-6%2Ax%5E2-2%2Ax Now add every term listed above to make a single expression.

-6x%5E2%2B7x%2B3 Now combine like terms.

So %283-2x%29%283x%2B1%29 FOILs to -6x%5E2%2B7x%2B3.

In other words, %283-2x%29%283x%2B1%29=-6x%5E2%2B7x%2B3.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
(3 - 2x)(3x + 1)
= 3(3x) + 3(1) - 2x(3x) - 2x(1) {used foil method}
= 9x + 3 - 6x² - 2x {multiplied through}
= -6x² + 7x + 3 {combined like terms}
