Use the quadratic formula to get:
x=[6+-sqrt(6^2-4*2(3)]/4
x=[6+-sqrt(12)]/4
x=[6+-2sqrt(3)]/4
x=(3+sqrt3)/2 or x=(3-sqrt3)/2
